Blog about Twitter
How does a Twitter discussion compare to a Blackboard discussion or in-class discussion?
Comparing those two discussion methods, the first comparison to a Twitter discussion compared to a Blackboard discussion is limited words in your posts. On Twitter you can tweet posts in a limited words. You can post their some ideas, news, or your thoughts but you are not able to express yourself fully as you do on blackboard discussions. Also, when you tweet on Twitter, your tweet will be visible to all users or you can just limit it to your followers only. You will also be able to read other people's tweets worldwide. On Blackboard your discussion posts are available only to your classmates and your professor. Other people except them will not be able to read your posts. I think, Blackboard discussions are more academic based, while twitter discussions are not limited, you tweet whatever you want based on any trending news or any ideas you would like to share with your followers. It is fact that Students should choose blackboard for class discussions rather than Twitter. Since we have different followers on twitter, our tweets on academic purposes may annoy them to read. These two platforms are great to use for discussions, but they operate differently and we should choose one of them based on our purpose of posting to those discussions.
