Blog Social Networking
Nowadays, the trend of social networking technologies are increasing day by day. It enables million of people over the world to interact with each other and share data, information, media product, etc. Thousands of social networks, first and foremost focus on building social networks and relations, providing them communication using these technologies. One of the other benefits of social networking is the businesses and companies can build relationships with consumers and customers. This is one of the most successful tool to easily interact with customers and be socially engaged with them. However, social networking has also some disadvantages such as, it is making some people's life more virtual, but not real. Some people are stack into social media that they do not interacting with real people in real world. Also, some people prefer to keep their privacy from social medias. But some of the social medias like facebook or instagram's privacy policies are a bit confusing that sometimes you cannot hide your private pictures or post from other users that you would not like to see your posts. For example, there is an article about Zuckerberg's sister Randi Zuckerberg who wanted to post their family picture on social media for only friends, but her picture went public and everyone go access to see that picture. "So the lessons here is twofold: Facebook privacy settings are too confusing, and if you really don't want intimate photos out there, don't put 'em on Facebook. But also, don't expect to hide something if you do — everything can be shared and re-shared these days." (Grenfield)
These days, the majority of the young generation are really concerned about their privacy and privacy settings of their social media sites. As it mentions in the article written by Marc Parry, "The authors speculate that the increased privacy interest could come from public attention devoted to the subject, from more changes in Facebook’s default settings, or from prompts that Facebook shows users." (Parry) that some of the social media sites are not really safe to share some private data.
